Real Mexican! The founders of this place, Candice, Sameer and Amit were being insanely honest when they named this place. After getting accustomed, did I say accustomed? Addicted! After getting addicted to Mexican cuisine in the US, the Masterminds behind Chinita traveled to Mexico to learn their secrets! Once their coffers were filled to the brim with the most ambrosial recipes they opened the doors of Chinita in Indiranagar, Bangalore.
With the all smiling staff greeting you at the entrance, you already have a good feeling about this place. Their menu screams out Mexican in every word .Tortillas, Quesadillas, Tacos and Burritos you name it and they have it to tickle your taste buds.
Recommended dishes:
Grilled Corn: This sweet corn on the cob is grilled lightly and smeared with a delicious layer of cheese sprinkled with the right amount of chili powder. Mmmm…
Roasted Zucchini and Corn Burrito Bowl: Now who doesn’t like relishing Little Donkey in their bowl? You read it right! Interestingly the word Burrito literally translates to “Little Donkey”. More details in another article. The foodie in me was quite satisfied with the variety of items that goes into this one bowl ; Cilantro rice, jalapeno, Flour tortilla, salsa, onions, sour cream and any additions of your pick from the menu, which in my case was roasted Zucchini and corn.
Nachos: The neatly arranged tortilla chips covered with the tangy salsa and grated cheese is enticing to the onlookers and delightful to those eating.

A little something from the kitchen:
Guacamole
This avocado based salad is a zero cholesterol treat to all you diet conscious individuals. And the friendly folks at this kitchen were more than happy to share their recipe with us.
Gather these ingredients
- 1 Medium avocado, ripe and soft
- 1 Tomato, finely chopped
- 1/2 Onion, finely chopped
- Cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/2 Lime
- Salt to taste
- Garlic, mashed and finely chopped
What to do with the ingredients
- In a bowl, mix the chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro and garlic
- Cut the avocado, remove the pit and scoop the flesh into this bowl
- Nicely mix all the ingredients. Make sure you don’t go all Hulk on it and mash the avocado too much
- Squeeze the lime along with pinches of salt into this mixture to suit your taste
- You can munch on this with crispy tortilla chips and thank me later 😉
PS: Guacamole needs to be eaten fresh(can be refrigerated for up to 4 hours too) for avocados are easy victims to oxidation 😦
In a nutshell, I am sure you guys will enjoy this place and their recipe as much as you enjoyed reading this article (I know you did). My friends and I had the time of our lives here 🙂
